πΉ Video Streaming β Now Free for All Users!
Streaming has a number of fantastic uses and is a welcome new addition to FF chat. Whether you simply wish to know someone better, host live eating sessions, or simply verify that the person you're chatting with is who they say they are. We're excited to expand this feature so that all users are now free to enjoy it.
Key Things to Know
β’ Works on both desktop and mobile
β’ Only one person can stream at a time per private chat
β’ Only one active stream per user β stop your current stream before starting another

β’ Do not use a VPN and ensure your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone

For the Streamer
Starting Your Stream
β’ In private chat, locate the video recorder icon π₯ next to your username in the chat side panel and click it
β’ A preview window will open so you can check your video and audio settings
β’ Press GO LIVE to start broadcasting. A "LIVE" indicator will appear in the top left of your video
β’ Your chat partner will see a view buttoneye icon ποΈ appear next to your name. When they click it, they can view your stream, the view button (eye icon ποΈ will appear as soon as you open the stream in preview mode and until you GO LIVE a place holder image will show until you broadcast your stream.
π± Mobile Users: The side menu is collapsed by default β tap the double chevrons ( Β» ) to expand it and find the streaming icon.
While live you can:
β’ π₯ Turn off your webcam to use audio only
β’ π Mute your audio or βΈοΈ Pause to use video only
β’ βΉοΈ Press STOP to end your stream at any time
To close the stream window, click the streaming icon (now showing with a strikethrough) next to your username in the chat side panel. This returns you to standard text chat.
β±οΈ Time Limit: Sessions last a maximum of 30 minutes. A warning appears 5 minutes before the session ends. You can restart a new stream immediately after β this limit simply prevents streams from being accidentally left running.

β’ Click the eye icon to watch β it is entirely your choice whether to view the stream or not
β’ If the eye icon disappears, the streamer has ended their session
β’ Before a streamer goes live, or if they pause, a placeholder image will display
